A Peek into my life

Picture

Hello there!

I’m Jacquelin Lawson, and I am currently a student at Texas Christian University (TCU). I just completed my first year as a Freshman, where I learned so much about myself. I discovered how challenging college truly is and how important friends and family are. As a TCU student, I have grown academically with classes that truly pushed me, and personally with new friends and memories.

Originally, I am from California (a place I love to call home) and I am eager to discover what the world has to offer me in the coming years.
As a little kid I loved animals, especially my pets, more than anything. In fact, when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I responded “I want to be a vegetarian!” Of course, I meant to say veterinarian. So, as a college student today, I am still passionate about a career involving animals and currently working towards that dream.

I also love to travel. One of my favorite things to do when I embark somewhere new is to find the coziest coffee shops, the best restaurants, and the yummiest pastry shops. In fact, a trip I took to New York when I was little had a huge impact on me. I realized that New York was the place I wanted to live after college. I love the busy city feel and the never ending amount of things you can do there. However, my all time favorite vacation was one I took with my family in high school. We traveled around Europe, including Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic. On this trip I explored a wide variety of cultures, traditions, and cuisines. I hope that in the future I’ll have the opportunity to travel to many more new destinations, whether it be a study abroad program, or a trip after college.

Inevitably, the variety of food I enjoyed while traveling led me to develop a passion for cooking and baking. If I am ever at home with nothing to do, you will undoubtedly find me in the kitchen cooking up something yummy. I love mastering new recipes, such as European pastries and cakes, and I truly appreciate cooking with my family and friends.

As I write about myself, I simply can not forget to mention my family. I have two older sisters (my best friends), two amazing parents, one crazy dog, and a sassy cat. I love spending time with my goofy family and going on spontaneous adventures with my sisters.

I know there is still so much to look forward to in my future, and I hope that I gain even more lasting memories and experiences while at TCU, I achieve my dream job of working with animals, and I get the opportunity to travel the world!

      Don't worry- I'll keep you updated :)
